This range features a 100% ClusterLoft fill, which is a type of synthetic cluster of microfine fibers developed to simulate the compressibility and heat retention of down – resulting in a 625 fill power equivalence. More affordable than down and not far behind on fill power, many prefer a ClusterLoft fill. Due to the resistance of the synthetic fibers to getting matted down when wet, Katahdin bags will be the best at retaining heat in wet conditions. We often recommend these to newer backpackers who want maximum versatility on a budget.
